Hernandez Consulting & Construction is working on the design-build renovation of the existing Interventional Radiology (IR) Suite at the West Haven VA Medical Center in Connecticut. We are currently renovating the 1,325 SF area to support the new Philips equipment. Renovation includes a new 5-ton DX system located in the ceiling with the exterior portions located near the radiology room. We coordinated with Johnson Controls for the modification and tie-ins to the existing HVAC controls system already on site. Hernandez replaced the existing lighting fixtures for new LED lighting fixtures along with the wall-mounted, outlets and switched covers. We replaced electrical components as needed to support the new Philips equipment. Electrical design complies with the Philips design guidelines and NEC. The Design team has been in coordination with Philips for this and other VA projects allowing for easy communication if we are awarded the project. We have included an allowance for a 30-day load test and electrical upgrades required by Philips based on other similar projects.
