Hernandez Consulting & Construction completed the design-build task order under their Department of Veterans Affairs South Florida MATOC to renovate thirteen (13) patient room suites on the 3rd Floor of the Community Living Center (CLC) of the Bruce W. Carter Veterans Medical Center in Miami, Florida.
Designed by Hernandez Consulting & Construction’s in-house architecture firm, Albert Architecture, this project consisted of refurbishing twelve (12) two-bed and one (1) four-bed patient room suites, approximately 4,902 square feet. The wing had previously been vacated due to the outdated state of the rooms. Refurbishment included updating all finishes including wall finishes, flooring and baseboards, ceilings, door hardware, light fixtures, bathroom fixtures and flooring, and installing new VA supplied lift system.
Once renovation was complete, the patient room suites were used as swing space to house patients while other parts of the hospital were being renovated.
