Hernandez Consulting & Construction completed the addition and renovations to the women’s clinic at the VA Medical Center in Wichita, KS. The work consisted of a two story, 19 room addition that included new exam rooms, procedure rooms, a new waiting room and reception area, and various other utility and medical rooms. The expansion was constructed by adding a story to the roof of the existing women’s clinic which resulted in multiple challenges including access to the workspace & working in an existing operational facility. The exterior shell of the addition was constructed first, with the only access to the workspace being via the roof through the windows. Hernandez completed all work without any interruption to the normal day to day operations of the VA Hospital.
