Hernandez Consulting & Construction has completed the seismic upgrade and remodel of building 8 for the Department of Veterans Affairs in Marion, IL. Hernandez demolished the original building, installed a new elevator system, removed and replaced the existing elevator shaft, installed seismic pins into the existing seismic structure, removed all of the asbestos from the building, installed a new roof. Work also includes new fire systems, alarm systems, security systems, new doors, frames and windows, the installation of glass-proof window film, new handicap ramps and new landscaping.
