Hernandez Consulting & Construction completed the refurbishment of Samuel J. Green Charter School, located in the heart of New Orleans, Louisiana. The refurbishment included some demolition and interior and exterior cleaning and repairs. Interior work included, but was not limited to, installing new wood flooring and refinishing all existing wood floors, abatement, replacement of 250 windows, installing wood base where missing and damaged, repair and painting damaged walls, installing a new wheel chair lift, replacing acoustical ceiling panels, complete renovation of the stairwells and restrooms, lead abatement, as well as constructing brand new restrooms. Outdoor work included, but was not limited to, major repairs and some replacement of the roof, installing new handicap ramps; cleaning, repairing and repointing brick and stone walls; replacing wood windows with aluminum; repairing, repainting and glazing steel windows; replacing wood entry doors; replacing gutters; and constructing a new trash enclosure. This contract also included renovation of the mechanical and electrical systems in the school.
