This project consisted of erecting a new 160’ steel water tank and tower, putting the tank and tower into service, and then subsequently demolishing the hospital’s existing water tank and tower. Major tasks included establishing a solid foundation by driving 44 concrete piles, supplying the tank with water through new underground water utility lines, energizing the site with a new electrical transformer, and safely erecting the tower and tank. Other key activities included installation of a pre-fabricated pumping system housed in an 11’x16’ enclosure to feed the new tank with clean water, new exterior lighting, new security cameras, a new driveway, new security fencing, and safely demolishing and removing the old water tower. All systems had to be integrated with the VA Hospital’s existing systems, including their water loop, electrical feeds, and building automation systems. This project finished with a very satisfied client, within budget, and ahead of schedule.
