Hernandez Consulting & Construction completed the contract to construct a 4-level parking garage with 393 spaces, south of the mail hospital at Overton Brooks VA Medical Center, Shreveport, LA. The new parking garage includes 2 traction elevators, lighting, security cameras, paving, pavement markings, signage/way-finding, drainage, utility relocations and supporting utilities. The façade of the parking garage will be bricked to match the campus buildings. The precast column caps on all the building columns will be painted on stained concrete.
The foundation of the parking garage had to be redesigned due to existing conditions. Hernandez used in-house personnel to redesign the parking garage. With the VA engineers, Hernandez were co-designers of the parking garage and ensured that it would be stable on the soil in Shreveport, LA.
