Spees and Hernandez Clinch Four New VA Contracts

In collaboration with joint venture partner Spees Design Build, Hernandez has won four contracts with the US Department of Veterans Affairs this year to complete EHRM (Electronic Health Record Modernization) Infrastructure upgrades. These upgrades will take place at VA medical centers in Las Vegas, NV; Honolulu, HI; Menlo Park, CA; and McClellan, CA.

The VA uses the EHR system to store health information and track patient care. These infrastructure upgrades to the system will make it easier for clinicians to access a Veteran’s full medical history in one location, allowing for better quality of care. Patient information and history will be more easily accessible between the Department of Defense and community care providers, saving time and energy for both patients and clinicians.

Ranging from 3.5 to over 20 million dollars each, these contracts are a huge win for Spees and Hernandez, the latest in many successful bids for VA projects. These projects will require teams to install new cabling above ceilings. All of these projects will take more than one year to complete, so our teams will continue to work at some of these locations well into 2024.

Over the years, the Spees and Hernandez joint venture has developed a specialization in working with federal agencies. As veteran-owned small businesses, supporting the VA in modernizing health records for veterans is in perfect alignment with our goals and values.
