Hernandez Consulting provided project management for canal and channel environmental remediation projects in four separate parishes in Louisiana: Calcasieu, Beauregard, Vernon and St. Bernard, for the U.S. Department of Agriculture – Natural Resource Conservation Service. Duties included logistics coordination, safety oversight and environment management including furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals required to remove and dispose of the material in and around a number of channels running through both private and government land. Work performed was coordinated with Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) and was in keeping with all Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) regulations. Note, this project was submitted to demonstrate Hernandez Consulting’s experience in project managing environmental services work in multiple locations at once.
Energy Research, Modeling, and Audits for New Orleans Public Schools U.S. Department of Energy, National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL)

Hernandez Consulting’s energy efficiency experts and project managers provide NREL and the school board with current energy usage information as well as possible energy cost savings measures (ECSMs), and energy models. This included energy systems research, recommendations, and required analysis. The energy audits performed provide a thorough understanding of a schools energy use and the best/cheapest way to reduce energy usage. The schools are also being re-built to attain LEED Silver certification and the energy work we are doing is being used as part of that goal.

Hernandez Consulting is a subcontractor on a team lead by Materials Management Group (MMG) that will provide environmental consulting and related services such as project management to City of New Orleans. These services include, but are not limited to: environmental testing, studies and reports; field sampling and testing services; drilling, soil characterization; monitoring wells; contaminated waste management and disposal services; soil remediation services; hazardous materials waste removal; disposal and abatement services; underground and aboveground storage tank services and site closure; lead paint inspection, removal and disposal; asbestos inspection, removal and disposal; toxic materials inspection, removal and disposal; site assessment in conjunction with the acquisition and disposition of property; environmental permitting preparation, filing and related services; environmental emergency response services; brownfields support services; continuous (24/7/365) emergency fuel system maintenance and repairs; continuous (24/7/365) as directed/on demand emergency manual fuel dispensing and record keeping services (including data entry); continuous (24/7/365) as directed/on demand declared emergency and special event fuel services (inclusing coordination, support, repairs, and manual dispensing up to and including delegated control of fuel dispensing services); as directed/on demand fuel monitoring (reconciling bulk fuel deliveries with fuel dispensed thru the City's automated fuel system and manual dispensing), meeting with City representative as required and representing the City in matters involving the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), litigation and any other proceedings involving environmental issues and related services as required. Hernandez Consulting's role is to provide project management over the environmental services provided through this contract vehicle.
