Hernandez Consulting is handling the project management for real estate title services and title insurance for the acquisition of various servitude interests or the full interest in property from private individuals, corporations or governmental bodies. In our capacity we are serving as the intermediary between the USACE and the firms conducting the title services and title insurance. We are also conducting the quality control testing to ensure that the title interim binders are meeting the needs of the government. Some of the current issues we are encountering is that given the destruction and aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, many of the Parishes had records lost and destroyed complicating the title work process. We continue to work through the issues as we serve as an intermediary representing the interests of the USACE as they attempt to gain clear title on lands surrounding the levee walls in order to reinforce the structures to prevent flooding after future hurricanes and heavy rains.
