Michael Niemtzow

Hernandez Consulting, LLC has offices in both New Orleans, Louisiana and Miami, Florida and is in the business of providing Project Management, Environmental Consulting, Security Services, Construction Management and Logistics solutions to the Government Sector.

The firm was established by Alex Hernandez, the current President and Managing Partner, after successful careers in both the military and private sector. At Hernandez Consulting, Mr. Hernandez has managed projects for a number of federal agencies such as the Army Corps of Engineers, Department of Agriculture, Department of Veterans Affairs, and Department of Energy. Prior to starting Hernandez Consulting, Mr. Hernandez was an executive at Citigroup where he worked in the areas of Global Operations and Infrastructure leading various reengineering initiatives, process improvements, and project manager roles. Mr. Hernandez began his career as a Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps specializing in Logistics Operations. Mr. Hernandez also sits on the Board of Directors for the non-profit organizations Veterans Services of America, Inc. and the Tulane Alumni Association. Mr. Hernandez holds both a BA Cum Laude and an MBA from Tulane University

Also a Partner at the firm, Abel P. Hernandez Sr. retired after a twenty-five year career working in the government sector of Miami-Dade County. His career spanned both line manager and senior leadership roles in all areas of operations, security, project management, facilities maintenance, construction, and people management in the Corrections and Rehabilitation Department. Abel is an Engineering graduate of the Cuban Naval Academy.

A recent addition to the team is Ryan Gatchell, Vice President of Project Services. Mr. Gatchell is a graduate of Tulane University and also attended the U.S. Marine Corps Combat Engineers Officers Course, as well as follow-on Force Protection training. Mr. Gatchell served as a Captain in the U.S. Marines Corps. During his time in the Marines, Mr. Gatchell served in the 1st Marine Division, 1st Combat Engineers Battalion as a Platoon Commander. Mr. Gatchell specialized in conducting vulnerability assessments in Survivability (hardening, blast proofs), Mobility (bridges), Counter-mobility (obstacle creation), and Demolition explosives. In a subsequent tour, Mr. Gatchell served as a Company Executive Officer during a Force Protection deployment in Central America, where host nations were advised on force protection security issues of their port and inner harbor facilities. Mr. Gatchell's final billet in the Marines was responsible for recruitment and selection of Marine Corps Officers in the states of Alabama and Mississippi.
